In the tradition of Vivaldi's "four seasons"

I must say I haven't really seen anyone on the portal who used music to tell a story.
This is one of the few times I don't have anything to say, other than I wish there was more...

Sincerely,
- Celx

I have to admit, the story was a bit of a last minute/impulse thing, but I never imagined so many people would like that part!

Thanks for the 10/10!

Low key, yet kinetic...

Hello,

I liked this quite a bit, the way you had a constant energetic beat, that wasn't to abrasive was cool.

I can't really say anything to bad except the run time was a little long, and I think dynamic sounds would have added some additional flair to the music.

Good work!

Thanks,

A nice mellow tune.

Hello,

Like others have said the tune is quite relaxing.
The beats stand out and echo, but without being too abrasive.

You have a nice mixture of sounds, that all seem to flow well together.
The organic transition between the different melodies shows your skill at composing music.

The only thing that held this piece back was that you didn't integrate the use of dynamic sounds, which I feel would have rounded out this piece perfectly.

Still awesome work though!
Thanks,
- Celx

Bracksta responds:

thanks for the tip and great reveiw celx, i'll work on original and really spacy dynamic sounds :). I appreciate your time and input :D.

Not bad, but has serious flaws...

Hello,

This actually isn't bad at all for an improvised piece, unfortunately the music only seems to be coming from the left channel when I listen to it with headphones.

The other problem is it seems to end abruptly, to be more specific the end of the song seems cut off.

It's simple but nice, although those flaws do seriously hurt the music.

A wonderful interpretation of corruption...

Hello,

I am familiar with lovecraft story.
And I think this piece of music perfectly captures the idea of an invasion of ones mind.

It starts of with a bang and gradually gets more viscous, and disorienting.
The use of drums make the music seem panicky, and the unique mixture of other sounds add a otherworldly element to your music.

I guess my main criticism is that is starts off too fast without a build up.
Perhaps if you started the piece without too much going on then gradually, but quickly added music it would convey the concept of an infection spreading across a persons dreamscape better.

Still it was a very cool concept, and I applaud you on the near perfect execution!

Psil0 responds:

Thanks man and this was actually my first Drum and bass song, so I was using it more so to get used to the feel of the genre. I felt the natural progression of the song as I wrote it felt fittingly for Lovecraft's story.

I think with my latest submissions I've been able to improve upon from what I learned writing this particular piece.

Felt true to the title...

Hello,

I like piano pieces, and this was pretty decent.
I like the overlapping of tunes, I think it's a cool idea.
Although other people will probably dislike it, I think you pulled it off well.

Unfortunately the ending was like a kick to the nuts, it was too loud and didn't flow well with the original melody, and made everything seem garbled.

Still I thought this piece was pretty underrated so I gave you a five, to even out your score...

Thanks,

Sawdust responds:

Thanks a lot, yeah the ending blows, which is why I advised you to disregard it, yeah.

A flawless piece...

Hello,

You have captured the spirt of the cinema perfectly.
The salient piano sequence adds a elegant charm to this wonderfully
eclectic piece of music.

Feels jazzy, and very cool.
The best thing I've come across the audio portal to date.

Thanks,
- Celx

The music is very fast

True to the Rasta spirit...

My second boss I ever had was a Rasta, he would listen to this shit all day.
He was a tyrant, and forced his staff including me to eat jerk chicken.
It caused all of us to suffer the trauma of sever bloody anal fissures.

I try not to listen to this kind of music, not because I dislike it, I think it's
pretty cool, reason being I get flashbacks of all the blood left on the toilet, and
end up crying myself to sleep at night in a fetal position...

Anyway,
The track you made has really cool moments, the orchestral part that comes into play was really unexpected in a good way, and made the music more unique.

The drum beats were very well done, and the vocals although almost inaudible did seem to carry that signature Rasta tone of voice. To bad you didn't include the word "pussywhil" in there somewhere.

Nothing is really wrong with this piece other than it's somewhat short.

Thanks,

DeejayDeeZ responds:

I'm sorry if this song is bringing back bad memories for you. I'm also sorry for laughing of it...

Well...
Thanks for liking the song, nothing you're really complaining about and it's somewhat much harder to respond to positive reviews.

Anyway, if I had a Rasta vocal sample saying "pussywhil", I would definitely have used it.

I will extend the song later, but for now it would just had been repitive.

Thanks for reviewing, I appreciate it.

Very cool premise...

I loved the dialogue!

It was a really witty, and fresh take on the Jokers "why so serious" speech.
The delivery is solid, sadly your voice while clear, doesn't carry that disturbing quality that would make this piece "whole".

I can't blame you though, the effort was top notch, and the Jokers voice is extremely difficult to capture accurately.

But from an honest perspective it doesn't feel right.
I must give you credit, the dialogue you created around the original was really
funny, and I think it's a brilliant, & well thought out parody.

ForNoReason responds:

Thank you.

As a tribute piece it works...

Hello,

I remember the game, and it's annoying yet oddly catchy theme music.
I think you did a very solid remix of the music.

Various elements you've added make the track significantly more enjoyable,
so I'm going to congratulate you on making a good remix.

That said this is something I would consider cruel, and unusual torture if someone was forced to listen to. I'm sure there are a bunch of folks out there that will really dig this though, it was really well done...

On the other hand I would much prefer to be raped by Lebanese pirates...

Thanks,

Cosmos8942 responds:

Solid. Significantly more enjoyable. Good Remix. Sadly that is all I saw lol, j/k of course. But seriously this was a fun one to make because about halfway through I realized that I was onto something and continued with the percussion. I don't believe it is as good as it could've been but nonetheless it is enjoyable to listen to.

Thanks for the review and sorry about the long-time answering,
-Tony-
